Pita Pit is a Canadian quick service restaurant founded by John Sotiriadis and Nelson Lang on the 25th February 1995 in Kingston, Ontario, Canada. The first store was located very close to Queen’s University in Kingston, Ontario. It seems it is the tradition of this quick service restaurant to locate its stores near colleges and universities. This gives them a good reach to their target customers.
After two years of successful operations, the restaurant began implementing its expansion plan within Canada. By 1999, it expanded to the United States through franchising. Today the restaurant has spread to over 600 locations in over 13 countries. Pita Pit now has presence in Australia, Brazil, Canada, France, India, Ireland, Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, New Zealand, Panama, Singapore, Trinidad and Tobago, United Arab Emirates, United Kingdom and United States. Pita Pit is leveraging on franchising to expand internationally. Their ideal partners are expected to have food and beverage experience with strong and shared core values among others.
