Uno Pizzeria & Grill
Uno Pizzeria & Grill was established in 1943 by Ike Sewell. Sewell first and foremost franchised the name and concept of the restaurant to Uno Restaurant Holdings Corporation in 1978, at Boston area. After his demise in 1990, his widowed wife Florence sold the original properties to Uno Due and Su Casa to the Boston-based Corporation. The Headquarters of the restaurant is in Boston, Massachusetts.
The Company has always been a franchise from the very beginning, in the year 2017. The company expanded to 102 restaurant branches located in the United States plus one in the District of Columbia. The East Coast and Mid West region continues to experience tremendous growth. The restaurant expanded internationally and it has branches in the following countries: Honduras, South Korea, Saudi Arabia, United Arab and Kolkata (India).
The restaurant has numerous competitors in the global scene but it has always maintained a remarkable reputation that it attracted a high profile magazine known as Entrepreneur Magazine. The magazine reviewed the restaurant and it ranked 174th in 2003 and 252nd in 2006 in the list of the top 500 franchises.
Customer taste and satisfaction is the priority of this restaurant and it has taken it as a responsibility to update its menu to satisfy customers taste, In 1997 for instance Pizzeria Uno changed its name to Pizzeria Uno Chicago Bar and Grill, it later simplified its name to Uno Chicago Grill, the change of name came as a result of the change in the menu. The change of menu started since 1994 when the restaurant expanded its menu to encompass other dishes. It also updated its kitchen, grill, fryers and the restaurant invested a lot of money to train their staff so that they can offer the best to their customers. The restaurant has continued to trend in the world stage because of its special kind of service. In 2005, it updated its menu and included several of restaurant’s traditional specialties particularly in its deep dished pizza. The company launched a fast food casual spinoff called Uno Due Go in 2008. The new chain features pizza, sandwiches, salads and bakery items like snacks, cakes and doughnuts.
